ZG Films is the first
privately owned film production house situated in the
heart of Stone Town Zanzibar.
The Company is owned and operated by local professional
photographer and Film maker, Javed Jafferji, who studied
in United Kingdom and returned to Zanzibar over 13 years
ago. ZG Films aims to make Zanzibar more accessible to
the international film industry around the world as well
as creating job opportunity for locals.
ZG Films in conjuction with its sister company Gallery
Tours has made it possible for many companies to film
in Zanzibar. On the island, ZG Films can handle everything
from filming permissions, equipment support, transfers,
local talent casting and transport of all equipments.
In October 2008, ZG Design supported one of the first
major films to be filmed on the Island after many years.
Ayaan, a Benali Film was shot in the world Heritage listed
Stone Town and was a great success. We also regularly
support numerous television productions from South Africa,
Holland and UK.
